| Welcome to ABSHA/ECS, the pioneers of Ethiopic
computing since 1982. Ethiopic or Geèz is the ancient alphabet
of Ethiopia which has been in use for thousands of
years.
The alphabet was manually written until the
printing press made it to Ethiopia around the beginning of
the last century. Starting in 1982, we computerized Geèz and
ModEth, the first Ethiopian word processor for DOS was
released in 1987. In 1993 EthioWord, an add-on to
Microsoft Word for Windows, and in 1994 GeezEdit was released.
