This
GEZED1.TTF font file was developed around 1994 by Ethiopian Computers &
Software. Download it to disk and install using Start > Settings
> Control Panel > Fonts > File > Install
New Font >. Select the drive and then the GečzEdit Amharic P.
Click on OK. This completes installation of this fake Amharic
font made out of character parts. This font has been online for
downloading at http://home.navisoft.com/ethiopian/index.htm
since 1997. Re-installation is not necessary if it is already on your
computer.
This
truetype font is for reading some Amharic documents, specially on Windows 3.1 and
Windows 95 platforms. In Windows 98, only programs such as America
Online and Netscape 4.7 may allow reading, printing and saving of the
files.
Typing
with this font requires our commercial
GečzEdit program.
Modification
of this file is forbidden and all our rights are reserved.

GečzEdit Amharic P (TrueType) for Windows.
This font was given out
in 1997 so that people who do not own our software would be able to read
important articles such as my 1991 translation of AIDS
in Amharic. Since then Microsoft has released Windows 98 and reduced
the character spots available to such fonts. Such documents may thus
miss numerous characters when read by newer programs and operating
systems and this is one reason why we do not recommended half and fake
characters.
This problem does not
affect our standard Ethiopic
and the the newer GečzEdit fonts which work in Windows 3.1, 95, 98, and
even Office 2000.
