An Ethiopic word in an Ethiopic text, document, pdf or html
file can be found just like the the English word. This requires the
use of the Find... (or Ctrl+F) command in programs such as Microsoft
Word, Internet Explorer, Adobe Reader, Microsoft FrontPage, etc. and typing the word to search.
To find "ads",
one types "ads" in the Find... space. This command highlights
"ads"
and "ads" words in
this
example html document as in the picture below. This is because the mapping
of "a", "a" and
"a"
are the same in our Geez standard. The results are not as refind as the English words since the
keyboard characters represent the various Ethiopic order glyphs.
Unlike the EthioEdit standard which does not require any program, the GeezEdit approach
is dependent on additional software to generate the Ethiopic text
one is seeking. This is one of the advantages of EthioEdit over
GeezEdit.
